The diocesan team supports parishes, deals with concerns sensitively and in confidence, and works with the police, probation and social services.

Our commitment

In his statement of May 2024, Bishop Bosco MacDonald set out that the Diocese of Clifton takes the protection of children and adults at risk extremely seriously. The diocese has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, follows the national standards of the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency, and is committed to openness, to responding with compassion when harm is reported, and to listening to and learning from survivors. Keeping our parishes safe is everyone’s responsibility.
